Final Report Abstract
Over the last years the project has yielded interesting results regarding several aspects of CV related topics. We have identified new proteins (SEC6, Syndetin) involved in CV function, have established a basic concept of CV regulation (cell size controls CV size, medium osmolarity controls pumping rate) and confirmed the role of MIP1 in CV function. New research path have been opened (e.g. systems biology) and work on the Syndetin gene will produce results interesting for the whole cell biological community as this protein has been not well investigated and is widely distributed in eukaryotes.
