Final Report Abstract

This work was one of the first studies to compare the microRNA transcriptional profile in the regenerative axolotl versus the non-regenerative rat after spinal cord injuries. It identified pathways that are differentially regulated in axolotl after spinal cord injury that promote a positive pro-generative circuitry to be activated and identified pathways that could be targeted in the non-regenerative rat to potentially promote better functional recovery after injury.
