TFB 57: Models and Methods for an Integrated Design of Products and Processes
Subject Area
Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
Term
from 2005 to 2008
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 15090000
Goal of the Transfer Unit is the transfer of methods developed in the context of the Collaborative Research Centre 361 Models and Methods for an Integrated Design of Products and Processes into industrial practice. Within the Collaborative Research Centre 361 models and methods for an integrated design of products and processes have been developed. Here an interdisciplinary approach in the sense of Simultaneous Engineering has been followed. The Transfer Unit comprises two transfer projects System Independent Reference Processes and Decision Support Tool for the application with target costing .Within the Transfer Project System Independent Reference Processes models and methods for an integrated design of products and (production) processes are implemented in business processes and IT systems of producing companies. Basis for the reference processes are the developed methods and methods data base.Focus is the continuous alignment of company strategy, product development processes and IT systems. Reference processes consist of process templates that describe the methodological optimised way through integrated product and process design. The reference processes are assessed according to their contribution to the company strategy and modelled in form of a maturity model. The levels of the maturity model allow a scalable introduction of Product Lifecycle Management.Within the Transfer Project the business processes for project programme planning, single project controlling, risk management, design chain management, quality controlling, change management, requirement management, stress optimised work environment, and staff selection/development for production processes will be developed. The consortium comprises three research institutes, two consulting companies, one system supplier and three producing companies.Focus of the Transfer Project Decision Support Tool for the application with target costing the method for a systematic integrated quality planning will be implemented in an IT system. Focus is the complexity reduction of preventive quality methods. Goal is the implementation of an IT system that provides all methods and tools of target costing and that guides the user to select the most appropriate method. The consortium comprises one research institute and one specialised software company.
