Process combination for manufacturing of teethed, thin-walled functional components out of tailored blanks (A01)

Subject Area Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term from 2009 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143

Project Description

Aim of the third project phase is the development and analysis of new process control strategies for the manufacturing of load optimized functional components with two-sided functional elements per-pendicular to the sheet plane. The arrangement of functional elements on both sides of the cup wall represents the further development of the existing part geometry of the first and second process phase. The tailored blanks are manufactured by a flexible rolling and an orbital forming process. The further processing is investigated in a single-step process combination of deep drawing and upset-ting.
