Computational analysis of linear interaction motifs and globular protein intervaces in effector proteins (A02)

Subject Area Bioinformatics and Theoretical Biology
Term from 2009 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 52732026

Project Description

We will study linear interaction motifs in viral tegument proteins and in proteins from Helicobacter pylori. The approach will also be extended to allow the investigation of the binding of bacterial glycolipids to the cellular Mincle protein. A combination of molecular modelling, docking, and molecular dynamics simulations will be used to study the interactions of the HCMV proteins pUL50-pUL53 and to predict the complex structures of HCMV IE1 with host proteins of the TRIM-family.
