During the first (2 year) project phase we developed and investigated a microscopy with freely programmable pupils for imaging and illumination. The man advantage of this microscope ist high degree of flexibility. Different and new imaging techniques can be easily implemented by software without the need for time consuming and costly hardware modifications. Within the project we imlemented different phase contrast techniques and stereo imaging. First experiments concerning confocal microscopy have been conducted. The aim of the one year extension of the project is the application of the programmable microscope for the investigation and realization of new methods in Raman microscopy and the further improvement of confocal imaging methods and the depth scanning principle. The main sub-goals are:1) Realization of parallelized confocal microscopy with improved accuracy.2) Realization of new method for improved Raman microscopy3) Extension of the object field by using a Two-image method4) Application of the software-based depth scanning for deconvolution microscopy.
